Historic Fine Dining That’s Upscale… But Not Stuffy
In the resort community of Petoskey overlooking the Little Traverse Bay, you’ll find no shortage of fine dining options. However, for a true hidden gem tucked away on a quiet bluff in the Bayview community, you’ll want to make dinner reservations at 1911 Restaurant. The restaurant is located at the Terrace Inn but open year-round to the public. As soon as you step inside, you’ll be transported to a bygone era in our tastefully decorated dining room showcasing antique chandeliers, maple floors, and original furniture pieces. Yet, our menu offers a modern spin on classic American cuisine showcasing farm to table creations crafted by our Executive Chef. Pair your meal with a selection from our carefully curated wine list, local draught beer, or a cocktail from our full bar.
When you dine at 1911 Restaurant, you’ll feel immersed in romantic, historic surroundings while enjoying all the modern amenities you could want to accompany your dining experience.
Take in Amazing Scenery in One-of-a-Kind Surroundings
Our dining room and covered terrace welcome diners in every season. From both areas, you can enjoy sweeping views of Little Traverse Bay beyond our meticulously landscaped grounds. We welcome parties of up to 8 guests on the terrace (adults only) and groups up to 12 in the dining room. In the summer, you might enjoy a fully alfresco dining experience on our garden patio featuring red wrought iron bistro tables. No matter where you choose to enjoy your meal, we want you to feel special throughout your dining experience. If there’s anything we can do to improve the experience, just ask us! We’re happy to offer extras for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events.

Mo and Patty Rave are the current owners of 1911 Restaurant and the Terrace Inn. They are passionate about preserving the unique legacy of the space that’s operated almost continually over the past 100+ years. However, they also bring their own modern vision with a staff boasting more than 75 years of combined industry experience.
With the creative touch of Chef Andy, 1911 Restaurant offers an amazing menu that changes with the seasons. Sourcing ingredients from local farms, fisheries, and bakeries—including Coveyou Scenic Farm Market, Bear Creek Organic Farms, Fustini’s Olive Oil, Dutch Oven Bakery, and Murdick’s Homemade Fudge & Ice Cream—our menu offers something to please any palate. We create everything from scratch and cook every dish to order. In addition, we’re pleased to cater to vegetarian and gluten-free diners. Many diners visit us seeking our freshly caught Hardwood Planked Whitefish, but you can’t go wrong with any entrée from our menu.

Beautiful area and building, with friendly staff. But we ate in the dining room for the buffet breakfast. We ate more than enough.
